Men of Purpose

I can go on about the Men of Purpose, but I shouldn't have to try and sell something that has already been blessed by God." —R. C.

About Us

MEN OF PURPOSE is a California 501(c) 3 non-profit organization located in East Palo Alto, California headed by Chaplain Arquilla Conner. It was founded in 1998 when Chaplain Conner's ministry took her from the position of chaplain at Stanford Hospital to the Santa Clara and San Mateo County jails. It was there that she was given the vision to expand her work of ministry to the men in the Northern California State prisons.

Men of Purpose (MOP) organization services incarcerated men from East Palo Alto, Menlo Park and surrounding areas without regards to race, national origin or religion. It is built on a self-sustaining model building on client success to continually serve more clients in need.

Currently, the organization's programs offers Referral Services, Spiritual Counseling, Family Re-Unification and Re-Entry Structure—not only to incarcerated men—but also to their families who are often forgotten. Many of these families are helped through our collaborative outreach services providing assistance with jobs, health issues, housing, food, clothing and emergency assistance (bills/housing etc.). We also provide a Volunteer Fellowship Ministry that is held at the prison site and offers one-on-one and group interaction outreach ministry developed through the Spiritual Counseling segment of the organization.
