Kobe Bryant A Polished Basketball Star In Trouble   [forward as email]

The pressure from the media for Kobe to a diamond in the rough can be a tremendous wieght to carry.

The recent allegations against Kobe Bryant (N.B.A. bastketball point position player for the L.A. Lakers) sexually assaulting a young girl in Colorado are minor examples of what being a star is all about.

In recent times I have seen many basketball players such as Jordan's or Magic Johnson's carrer take a turn for the worse because of some bad choices.

True all these athletes are very, very talendted players.

Yet, they are human beings and will make mistakes like all of us.

The media reportings and the investigations so far for Kobe seem to be incredulous. Hopefully they will play out in his favor. My assumption is that stars always haft watch out for people that may be out to get them. Then again they do make mistakes.

The recent article About Kobe Bryant in the Mercury was a great piece to read because Mark Purdy the columnist coincides with the notion, "all allegations are true". He basically is fed up and will believe anything and later make up his mind, when the verdict is in. The article is appropriately titled Taking both sides in Bryant matter .

The dichotomies and the challanges that a star such as Kobe Bryant has to fight against are far lager than we can imagine. He not only has to be a star but a shining star, with an untarnished carrer as a player and as a human being. This inturn will make him a lucrative player for companies to endorse him and embrace him, because he is a postive black male.

I contend, Before we make up our minds we must ratiocinate with clarity.

Charles Barkley not a role model..hmmm   [forward as email]

This is another view of the same problem.

For me the best quote is the first 2 sentences of the article:

Basketball's Charles Barkley once said he wasn't a role model. This is like the president of the United States saying he doesn't want press coverage

Regards..
