About EPA.net

EPA.net is an online community resource center that provides East Palo Alto with relevant, up-to-date, and general information. The goal of EPA.net is to be a real voice for the community by providing families, businesses and community-based organizations with online tools that increase their capacity to serve their local community.

EPA.net provides community members and organizations with:

  • General, relevant, and up-to-date information about the community and the City of East Palo Alto

  • Tools that increase the effectiveness, efficiency, transparency and inclusiveness of community development efforts

  • A platform for connecting residents to technology and training them to use technology to create, learn, and express

  • Forums for engaging in community life, sharing ideas and thoughts, and for experimenting with technology

Much of the site's content is contributed by community members, who both report and write for EPA.net. These volunteers are all committed to building a vibrant, dynamic, and engaged online culture for EPA.net by inspiring ideas, building community, and amplifying new voices from East Palo Alto and the Belle Haven neighborhood of east Menlo Park.

EPA.net is a core program of Plugged In, the mission of which is to connect individuals and cultivate minds by creating the opportunity to produce, express, and contribute using technology. In addition to EPA.net, Plugged In works with a number of Technology Access Points (TAPs) located throughout the community to provide safe, welcoming, "easy to get o” places where residents can learn to use computers and access the Internet.

Community Advisory Board
