Pacific Islander Outreach
Pacific Islander Outreach (PIO) is a non-profit community-based agency
providing services to the Pacific Islander community. PIO collaborates
closely with the Hispanic/ Latino and African-Ameican communities in East
Menlo Park and East Palo Alto of the San Mateo County in California; to
facilitate access to health and human services for all. PIO is an experienced
service provider in the areas of: Cultural Sensitivity Training, Translation
and Interpretation, Advocacy, Research, Community Needs Assessment, and
Community Outreach. We have provided these services to the following institutions:
County of San Mateo's Code Enforcement Staff, San Mateo County Department
of Health, Menlo Atherton High School teahcers and parentsm Ravenswood
Union High School District teachers, Sequoia Union High School District
teachers, One East Palo Alto, El Concilio, and the Polaris Research Institute.

- The King of Tonga's personal fitness and nutrition program.

HIV/AIDS.
Culture
Geographical information, Ethnic & Cultural diversities, The communal
way of life - the cheifly system, the people and the land, The extended
family, Children's upbringing and disciplining practices, Traditional
health ceremonies, and Important traditional ceremonies. |
