Connect Family Resource Center (Connect)
Connect Family Resource Center (Connect) services are geared to prevent
child abuse and neglect, promote kindergarten readiness, build community
capacity, promote healthy and educational outcomes, promote positive parenting,
and enhance autonomy and self sufficiency. Connect seeks to improve the
health and well being of families and increase families' engagement in
the school and community. We primarily serve families on the Cesar Chavez
Educational Complex. Connect is a collaborative program between the East
Palo Alto Peninsula Partnership Collaborative, City of East Palo Alto,
Ravenswood City School District, San Mateo County Human Services Agency,
and The Family
Support Center of the Mid-Peninsula.

Connect Family
Resource Center programs are subdivided into Family Support and Community
Capacity Building Services.
Family Support Services are geared toward kindergarten readiness,
prevention of child abuse and neglect, and promoting healthy and educational
outcome goals for families.
Community Capacity Building Services are geared toward strengthening
and empowering families. Families are linked to opportunities that
will help them sustain the changes in their life, school, and community.
Menu of Services
Jump Start Summer Kindergarten Camp
5 ½ week kindergarten readiness camp for children entering kindergarten
in the fall. Families are provided with support services until the
student reaches 3rd grade.
Parent Education, Support, and Leadership
Families have an opportunity to attend parent workshops and support
groups.
Preschool Enrollment and Education
Forms assistance, preschool education list, and workshops geared
toward encouraging families to enroll children into preschool. |
