Presentations

The Presentations section provides users with the ability to create and share online presentations with their community and coworkers. Presentations are similar to Microsoft Power Point presentations with the ability to incorporate bullet points and images.

There is a brief overview of how to create a presentation using the "Presentation" section of epa.net. Click below for brief instructions.

Adding a Presentation

  1. From the main page, click the "Presentations" link. You will see other presentations in the system. There will be nothing in the "My Presentations" area until after your first post. Note* Your presentation will not be viewable by all users unless you make it available.
  2. Under "Options", click the "Create a new Presentation" link. This takes you to a page where you can add the title, a signature, copyright information, and other settings for your presentation.
  3. Once you have selected the presentation settings you desire, click the "Save Presentation" button at the bottom. This will take you to a new page where you can create slides, edit presentation properties, and add collaborators (people are also allowed to contribute to the presentation or make changes).
  4. Under the "Slides" title, click the "Create the first slide" link. Here you will be able to add the slide title, bullet items, attachments and slide text.
  5. Click the "save Slide" button when you have completed the slide. This will put you back on the slide creation and edit presentation properties page. Note the "Create new slide" option is now replaced by your first slide. Here you can now add a new slide by clicking the "Add" or "Insert Links". "Add" places a new slide after the current slide and insert places a new slide before the current slide. You can always change the order of your slides later by clicking the "Change order of slides" link.
  6. Add a slide and repeat step 5 for as many slides as needed.

Adding Attachments and Images

  1. To add an image or attachment, click the " Attach" button at the top of the slide creation page. This takes you to a page where you can browse your hard drive for an image or photo (.jpg or .gif format). You can also choose a file to attach to the presentation.
  2. Click the browse button.
  3. Locate the file you wish to upload. If it is an image or photo, you should click the "Display as image" radio button (blank circle). You must then tell where you want the image to be placed by selecting the option from the drop-down menu. You can see the other options by clicking the (drop down menu) box that points down next to the display box option text. If it is a file you are linking, select the display link radio button.
  4. You can then view the slide and change the image placement if you are not happy with it.

Deleting a Presentation

  1. To delete, click the "Delete this presentation" link under the "Options" title on the slide creation page.
  2. You will then have to confirm you want to delete the presentation by giving your password again. Type your password and then click the button.
