East Palo Alto Celebrates East Palo Alto
Incorporation Ribbon Cutting 1983

Festival in the Park for City's 20th Anniversary

Welcome to the City's 20th Anniversary Celebration. "Entitled East Palo Alto Celebrates East Palo Alto", this Festival represents for us a significant point in a long journey towards self-determination and prosperity for all. The journey has not been without challenges, but there is no better testimony of this community's resilience than the fact that we have overcome most of them.

This celebration is going to be a celebration of this resilience, our diversity, and of the individuals who gave of themselves to make it possible for us to be where we are presently as a community. The outdoor Festival promises to be a cultural kaleidoscope, drawing upon the various cultures in dance, music, song, the spoken word, crafts and food...

20th Anniversary
Film Festival for City

Welcome to the East Palo Alto 20th Anniversary Film Festival. We are proud to have been able to assemble a program of films looking at both our challenges and successes as a City, and at the other aspects of life that define a community. Here you will find out about our cultures, our youth and our efforts in areas of economic development, housing, public health and education. You will both meet the activists who worked so hard to make East Palo Alto into a City and you will hear the voices of the youth who will inherit that city.

The Festival looks at where we have come from and where we hope to go…

Mayor, City of East Palo Alto

The Connect Center provided language, parenting and job skill classes to parents and families at the Green Oaks Academy on the Cesar Chave z campus.
