|
1983 - 2003 20th Anniversary Celebration July 1, 2003 - 7:00P.M. City Council Chambers
On July 1, 2003 at 7:00P.M., the City of East Palo Alto invites residents, neighbors and friends to join with us in celebrating 20 years of growth and progress. The City, not without a struggle, was incorporated July 1, 1983. In the late 1990s growth and redevelopment have rapidly escalated. The City is constantly evolving into one that is more and more ethnically diverse and multi-cultural. The City continues to strive, encourage and support responsible economic development activities that address the City's economic needs as well as the desires of local residents.

By Dennis Parker, Community Advocate
Between June 2 and June 17th the City of East Palo Alto met five times to review the proposed new budget and hear comments from the public. Final approval was made at the June 17 meeting. We are fortunate that Community Advocate Dennis Parker was able to attend and report on the final three meetings so residents can better understand the issues at hand and the hard choices to be made.

Dear friends,
I knew Malonga Casquelourd for over 25 years since he first came to East Palo Alto

I think it made me grow up sooner and my childhood passed me by more quickly than the normal child. The sights and sounds of poverty and violence had become commonplace in my mind.
