Health Clinic Changes Name
South County Community Health
Center, based in East Palo Alto,
has a new name. Since many people assumed
that it must be one of the County’s public
health clinics, the Board decided to eliminate
confusion by changing the name.
As of April 1 Ravenswood Family Health Center
is the name. The location, telephone, email addresses,
and fax numbers stay the same.
However South County Community Health Center,
Inc. is still the legal name until the
amendment to the Articles of
Incorporation is complete.

An Interview with Oscar Rivera
Everybody knows there are some unique individuals
in this town. With this issue, EPA.net begins a
regular new feature in this corner:
portraits of East Palo Alto residents.
We plan to tell two stories a month for now.
If you know someone who has a story that needs
to be told, get in touch with us at content@epa.net
or 650/322-1134 ext 13.
This portrait will be of Oscar Rivera. Oscar grew up
in East Palo Alto and is an artist and active member of
the Free at Last community, supporting other residents
in their recovery.
Oscar's story is also timely for Cesar Chavez' birthday.
As a young man he caught the spirit of the times, going to
United Farm Worker rallies, marching and painting murals
reflecting those struggles.

Reported by Dennis Parker, Community Advocate
Report to East Palo Alto City Council Meeting,
March 18, 2003.
Peter Reid, Director of the Stanford Community
Law Clinic (the Clinic) gave the report.
They recently moved into a space at 2117 University
Avenue (formerly Drew Center), situated together
with Community Legal Services (CLS) in East Palo
Alto, and the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County.
This is a nice, congenial arrangement for providing
high-quality services for residents of East Palo Alto
and the surrounding community.
