By Fernando Bravo,
Interim Public Works Director,
City of East Palo Alto

Next Wednesday, September 15th, two meetings will take place at the Community Room/Council Chambers located at 2415 University Avenue beginning at 7:00 P.M. One presented by SamTrans, on behalf of the City/County Association of Governments, covers a draft Community-Based Transportation Plan for East Palo Alto. The other meeting is sponsored by the City of Menlo Park and is about a Bay Trail Feasibility Study concerning possible routes connecting bayside trails in East Palo Alto and Menlo Park for walking, jogging and biking.

The purpose of the meetings is to seek comments from East Palo Alto residents as to their most important concerns and desires related to public transportation and the creation of a new Bayside trail connection through East Palo Alto. In both cases it is of utmost importance for East Palo Altans to comment on the plans.

The objective is to provide seniors with affordable produce in a convenient way, but the Market is also open to the whole community.

But another more hopeful finding was also documented: 62% of residents who knew about block clubs thought they were good or very good at addressing crime issues.
