Partnership to promote healthy
lifestyle change in East Palo Alto
By Kathleen Alexander,
Development Director,
Ravenswood Family Health Center
Kids are the masters of having fun and Children's Day on Saturday, July 31st, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Bell Street Park is the place to go for it.
All kinds of kid activities are planned, including a sack race and balloon relay. There will also be a puppet show, a magician, and a dance troupe performing.
Community organizations will have booths with special activities and rewards. "It's a day to honor kids," says Jennifer Jackson, the event organizer.
Children's Day is one of the most positive things that came out of the dark days of drug dealing and violence over a decade ago.

The Community Government Institute, educating youth for municipal leadership
Training culminates in youth-run model City Council this Sunday at 5 p.m. in City Hall
By Muisi-kongo Malonga & Ayodele Ankoanda Kinchen

reality.

Poetry from the community
In your time of sorrow,
You cannot see tomorrow.
You know that a brighter day will come.
But, that's not now where you're coming from.
Family and friends try their best to
Help you out of the loss you're going through.
But, it's something that only time can heal.
One day, you'll get another chance to feel.
