"Journalism mentors" can provide support and assistance

Over the past six months EPA.net has been looking at ways to assist and support residents, nonprofit staff and local government staff who want to write articles for EPA.net.

One method that seems to work is creating "content partnerships" between community writers and volunteers with journalism experience.

Last year more than 3,000 people enjoyed Cinco de Mayo festivities in the area of East Palo Alto and Belle Haven. This year the Comité Latino again invites the general public to celebrate Mexican/Latino culture and history with music, dances, foods, games for children and many other activities.

This year's Cinco de Mayo features a special tribute to Dońa Juana Briones.
