2nd Annual East Palo Alto College Fair Saturday
March 6th
The Pact: students define their dreams and how to
achieve them
Growing up 15 years ago on the streets of Newark, New Jersey, three young
black men faced social and economic challenges similar to those faced by youth
in East Palo Alto today. In response, the three made a pact for mutual success:

challenges and none would allow another to give up. They were successful
and today all three are doctors.
In preparation for the 2nd Annual East Palo Alto College Fair, high school
and middle school students will draw on the process described as The Pact
to spell out their own life goals and the pathway to their realization.

Helping EPA youth stay on a track to success
By Mikaya Strickling
When life gives us a second chance, we often are so thankful that we begin to live our life a bit more cautiously as we move on. However, every now and then a person uses another chance to not only bring peace to their life but have others learn from their decisions, so they do not fall into the traps of life that are so often set.
