Don't Miss Out This Year -- Register and Vote
El Voto que Cambió la Historia
de East Palo Alto
No se lo Pierda este Año Inscríbase y Vote
By Warren Slocum,
Chief Elections Officer, San Mateo County
Did you know that 15 votes altered the course of history in your community because
that's how many votes decided whether East Palo Alto would actually become a city or just
remain land governed by the County? 15 votes, that's all.
If you have ever felt that your vote didn't matter, this example clearly shows it does matter.
As San Mateo County's Chief Elections Officer, I can tell you that in every election there are
close races decided by a handful of voters. I know, my office is responsible for counting the votes and reporting the results.
If you are not already registered, please take a few minutes and
register to vote - you can do it online, right now. You can also apply
online for an absentee ballot.

to keep from getting hurt.
Lynel Gardner's way was to create a one-man performance called "Stories I Never Told My Father".

were fatally shot or stabbed in this park.
But today, after residents have reclaimed the park and a beautification effort
was completed, things are looking quite different in Jack
Farrell Park and the three other parks in East Palo Alto.

By Laura Savage
With cuts in social services, medical coverage and housing aid for the
elderly, it's nice to know that there are programs that look to ease
